There are three riders tied in third position. Dell Hendricks, Andrea Fappani and Tom Mc Cutcheon have all earned a 221. Hendricks is riding Lenas Pegesis for Vaughn Zimmerman; Fappani is riding NQH Little Jac for Juston Palmer and Tom McCutcheon is aboard Cowboy By Starlight owned by Frank Bolea. The fourth and last section of the first go round starts at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning. In the Intermediate Open Division, Dean Brown maintained the lead with his 220 earned on Angela Bartel and Rod Needham's Hickory Smoked Chex. Rocky Dare and Justin Mathison both have a 218.5 in a tie for second place. Dare is riding Ann and Garriett Saylor's Phantom Yankee by Rowdy Yankee. Mathison is riding Amber Slaughenhaupt's Diamante Del Cielo by Gallo Del Cielo. Mathison has tied with Jerry Fowler riding his own Whizard Black Jac by Whizard Jac to take the lead in the Limited Open Division standings. Kelle Smith Maintains Her Lead In The Cinch NRHA Non Pro Futurity Kelle Smith's score of 219.5 earned on Sam Smiths Chexanicki held after the first go-round, second section, despite a strong run by Dr. Jim Morgan aboard Hesa Dun Smart Listo by Listo Pollito Lena out of Dun It Sliding. With a score of 218.5, Dr. Jim tied for second place with Mandy McCutcheon riding Blow Pop owned by Mandy and her husband Tom. Mike Hancock, riding Kanosha Ten Whiz, now shares the lead in the Intermediate Non Pro Division with Nelle Murphy aboard Genuine Mate by Smart Mate and out of Genuine Starlet. Both talented riders scored a 217.5. Dale Bicknell scored a 216 with Whizard Done It by Whizard Jac and out of Tuff As Footwork. Sarah Johnson, riding Craig Johnson's Doc Santa Belle maintained her second place standing in this Division. Extra - Extra - Extra! NRHA's newest family member - Slider - made his debut on Saturday afternoon. Slider, the NRHA mascot will be visiting area children's hospitals, elementary schools and community events throughout the year promoting the sport of Reining. "Reiner Round Up" presented by the National Reining Horse Youth Association will make a difference this holiday season for needy children. Reiners are asked to drop off unused toys at stall 1060 in Barn 1. All donations benefit Toys for Tots. The NRHyA Silent Auction, to benefit the Reining Horse Sports Foundation, is underway - and their display tables, located across from the NRHA booth, offer an excellent selection of outstanding items.
