Bernard Fonck will once again return to the NRHA European Futurity. He will ride BA Reckless Chick at this year’s show. With this gelding by Hollywood Reckless, Bernard earned team siver at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky. The horse is owned by Nicky Van Tendeloo. Bernard Fonck and BA Reckless Chic have become a ‘winning combination’ with their achievements including the 2008 Americana NRHA Open Trophy class and the $30,000 added NRHA Open Trophy class at the 2009 CS Classic in Givrins, Switzerland.
Then, there is NRHA Million Dollar Rider Rudi Kronsteiner with two horses. One of his mounts is being Hollywood Yankee Kid. The stallion by Rowdy Yankee and out of Sunshine Yellow Kid is owned by Heike Nixdorf and Mario Karner. The pair won the NRHA Open class at the Reining International de Lyon in 2011.
More top riders in the NRHA Open Trophy class include Franco Bertolani, Nico Hormann, Oliver Stein, Morey Fisk, Cody Sapergia, Lukas Brucek, Gennaro Lendi, Jurgen Pouls, Michel Sandijk, Mirjam Gensicke, Peter Ljungber and Christian Dalla Pozza.
In the NRHA Non Pro class, last year’s Champion Claudio Risso and Spat A Blue will give it another try. In 2011, the stallion (Spat Olena x ARC Joy Surprise) scored a 223 winning the class and taking one big step towards the 2011 NRHA Non Pro World Championship title. But it won’t be easy for them with fine horse-rider-combinations like NRHA Germany Breeders Futurity Non Pro class winners Michael Jungfer-Schubert and Dun It On The QT (by Hollywood Dun It), Manuel Bonzano and Splendit As Gump BB (by Little Gump), Lisa Buscher Pfohl and Smart Like Delta, Richard Hagl and Ima Royal Legacy, Tina Kunstner-Mantl and Sparks A Whizzen, and many more.
The NRHA Open Trophy class is scheduled for Wednesday, March 21 with the NRHA Non Pro Trophy class following the next day (March 22). Entries can still be made.
